I have seen this elsewhere but not here at MDShooters.

What are the top 10 modern firearms, in your opinion, that every gun owner should have in their collection?

Try to be realistic and make sure they are obtainable relatively easily (No NFA or extreme high cost please).

    So here's mine:

    1. Semi-auto OR Revolver Rimfire Pistol (Ruger Mark III Standard)

    2. Semi-auto OR Bolt-action Rimfire Rifle (Ruger 10/22 Stainless)

    3. Centerfire Revolver (On my 'To Be Acquired' List - S&W .357 Magnum)

    4. Centerfire Double-stack Semi-auto Full-Size Handgun (On my 'To Be Acquired' List - Sig Sauer P229 or Glock 17)

    5. Centerfire single-stack Semi-auto Full-Size Handgun (Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded Stainless)

    6. Semi-auto OR Revolver Carry Pistol 12 Ounces Or Less (Ruger LCP)

    7. 'Personal Defense' Rifle (AR-15 and Saiga .308)

    8. Shotgun of Some Sort (Remington 870 Express Magnum)

    9. Bolt-action rifle that is chambered for a .30 cartridge of some sort (Mosin-Nagant Model 91/30 Rifle)

    10. A "Must Purchase Before the Communist October 1st Gun Ban Goes Into Effect" Gun (On my 'To Be Acquired' List - FN FAL or Springfield M1A)

The purpose is not to be restrained by opinion but by what you feel is what 'SHOULD' be in a 'proper' collection. Feel free to change as needed/desired - just identify the 'Top 10' and try to stay within the the original objective as much as possible

    What say you?

I'm waiting for a firearm manufacturer to pull a magpul in MD.

Then I'll buy whatever they are selling in as large a quantity as I possibly can.

    4. - P229 is not striker fired.

    5. - 1911 is not striker fired.

    Why not rinfire bolt action?

    Why not rimfire revolver?

I don't think there's such a thing as a gun every collector must have. The AR-15, 1911A1, and Glock 17 come closest, if only because of the crazy after-market for them. But, here's the funny thing: I say that as a guy who doesn't own a Glock and is probably going to sell his 1911 once his customized Hi-Power comes back. So, even with that context of that hard-to-dispute advice, I can't even be consistent.

don't see any collectible guns in the OP list. pretty much just a basics list, not a collection list. For example, what collection would not have an AK or a SCAR 17? Except the "AR-15" and the mosin, i don't want any of the guns on that list.
