Spent some time at the indoor 50 yard range with my 10/22 (MagPul stock) and RPRR. I wanted to see how they do side by side, same ammo, same distance, same day.
I used the same 15 round, Ruger factory magazine. The mag fit in the 10/22 was perfect. No wiggles or jiggles. The mag fit in the RPRR wiggled front to back and side to side. Rounds fed properly in the 10/22 every time. In the RPRR rounds fed properly the vast majority of the time but at least once per loaded mag I would get a partial feed and had to drop the mag to strip the round or reinsert the round and try it again.
The bolt on my RPRR is tight. I had to have a firm grip on the gun before flipping the bolt up. Maybe this will loosen up with more use. Spent Casings extracted well.
The RPRR had a tighter group but the 10/22 was pretty close with the exception of one round I yanked. I shot approximatley 100 rounds from each gun, seated with a bipod on both rifles. Started with Winchester and finished up with the CCI MiniMag. Each group is 15 rounds of the CCI. It was a fun day at the range with both rifles.
This was not a scientific study, just shootin some common, readily available inexpensive ammo from a couple of middle of the road rifles with affordable Hi-Lux Leatherwood glass to see how I/these rifles could do.
