    Private First Class Herman C. Knapp of Wayne New York was born March, 19 1926. He entered the service on September 13, 1944 and served in the U.S. Army European Theater of Operations as a member of the 79th Division. His campaigns include Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe. After the 79th was disbanded in December of 1945, he was transferred to the 1st Division 26th Infantry Regiment and stationed in Nurnberg Germany in the Army of Occupation. He passed on March 13, 2011. Herman is on the left in the picture.
