OP, good chance the MBUS is fake. Somewhere between Ruger and you, including at a distributor, the real one could have been swapped out in less than a minute. Then the perp sells the real one separately, especially if it's a front and rear set. It's been an industry problem for years.

I thought Ruger had their own version of polymer back-up sights? Just wondering why they would ship rifles with a different brand set of sights.
+1 on Magnumite’s reply: Magpul has a “PTS” version of their polymer sights which is marketed for airsoft. Box and packaging would clearly indicate “PTS”.

That's what I thought too. There's an MBUS copy that Ruger ships with some of their rifles.

I picked up a couple counterfeit magpul sling mounts once and my buddy got a pair of counterfeit(not even PTS) sights. Both off of ebay, cheap. I stopped trying to save a buck and just go through reputable dealers for stuff like that now. I hope OP can get to the bottom of his sight issue.

I have at least FOUR sets of Magpul MBUS sights. All of them were extremely tight to put on my top rail. So much so with a couple of them, that I had to lightly tap them on with a rubber mallet. Like others have said, you might have gotten some counterfeits...

That they do. I actually have a set of the Ruger sights on my BCA 7.62x39 upper because MagPul was sold out of front and rear sets and I didn't trust what I was seeing on Ebay and Amazon. Purchased the Rugers from Classic and honestly, I'm very impressed with them.

I honestly would be surprised to see them ship with MagPul vs their proprietary stuff.
