. The democrats actually do things when they have control , unlike the gop that does nothing when they have control. Gop with full control= not a damn thing For us. Democrats get control= we will get a full gun ban attempt for all non bolt action or revolver firearms.

While the GOP does seem inactive, I much prefer an inactive legislature to a full-blown activist frenzy.

The only useful course of action remaining for the GOP seems to be undoing all the overblown legislation passed by their opposition, not that such a course is even possible.

Lawyer's shelves are weighed down with hundreds of volumes of laws; it's hard to imagine that we need still more, and more, and more.

The key word in the quoted post is "control". The few controls remaining for the citizenry to control their government are being either erased or ignored. The government, on the other hand, is packed with idealogues who seem to need to exercise ever more control over the populace. Regrettably, their desires seldom coincide with the country's needs; more often, they interfere with the smooth functioning of a complex society.

You can't rule out a total ban or close to it. Back in the late '80s a Democrat in Congress (can't remember who) filed a bill that would ban all sniper rifles and defined it as any rifle...not just a bolt-action...but specified any rifle that was made to accept a telescopic sight, or could be made or remade to accept a telescopic sight. It went nowhere but under a total Democrat rule I would fully expect such proposals to be dusted off and introduced again.

Gun-grabbing politicians should have been satisfied with Red Flag laws which effectively confiscates weapons owned by law-abiding citizens. Now they're getting greedy with this proposed legislation and more of us are getting fed up. How much longer until we all become as fed up as the Founding Fathers were at King George?

People seem to keep forgetting that it's been a very long time since the GOP had actual control. Because to have that, they need 60 seats in the senate. Short of that, Chuck Schumer continues to control the legislative process in the senate, no matter what the GOP introduces or even passes in the house. Of course, if we lose the senate in November, it won't result in the Dems having 60 seats, either, so we can obstruct them just like they've been obstructing us.

Doesn't matter, of course. Because if Biden wins, he'll just go at it through the executive branch, and we'll have years and years of court battles over everything.

Schumer has said that it is time the Senate end the filibuster rule and allow a simple majority to advance legislation. Of course, he is saying this expecting another blue wave (of voter fraud) this November. Actually I'm good with changing that rule as long as they change the election of Senators back to the original process of each state legislature picking them instead of by popular vote.
