Senator Waldstreicher apparently wants Maryland Dealers out of business.

Please see SB0816 - http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/sb0816?ys=2020RS - and read the bill for details.

The requirements on business operations are onerous.

The Dealers need to make it out in force to testify when this bill comes up for hearing. As of this OP, it has not yet been scheduled. I will update the MSRPA tracker (https://www.msrpa.org/2020-maryland-general-assembly-bill-tracker/) once it is scheduled for a hearing.

Reading through the text of the bill: http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2020RS/bills/sb/sb0816f.pdf

there seems to be a lot of things that I would think that most shop owners are doing. However, they want all the records to be electronic. Also, it appears that they are wanting an audio and video recording of every firearm transaction with those recordings held for 1 year with requirements to turn them over in the event of certain investigations. It was nice of them to put in the new law that a person could not be found guilty of violating MD's wiretap law (10–402) by making these recordings.

That opens up a potential court challenge; if I refuse to consent to electronic monitoring of the transaction, I lose all 2A rights to purchase a firearm in MD.
