I love the first few comments regarding man destroying all of nature and there are zero wild areas left, blah, blah, blah.
I believe in preserving nature, but give me break. If the hippies want man to stop existing and growing and occupting space, I think they should lead by example and kill themselves to make more room for bunnies and such.

They are sika, look again. Summer coat.
I've never seen sitka deer with spots, but a google search says they can have spots.
I've always seen pictures of them looking like this.

There are several subspecies of sika deer. The one in MD is yakushimae.

i have a marriage related cousin that lives in japan and asked him about them a while ago. they are not the same sika we have. japans sika get upwards of 450 lbs. Also you can only hunt sika if you are a japanese citizen. shotgun and non lead projectile only aswell.
