I was planning on taking a trip to Delaware this weekend to get some standard cap mag for my AR. Normally I go to Cabelas but I haven’t been there in a while but is that a good, relatively cheap place to procure mags? Or does anyone know somewhere cheaper not too far from Havre de Grace?

Cabelas has a decent selection of Mags.

You could also check out Cameron’s Ace Hardware in Oxford. They have a nice selection as well.

    Delaware mags

X-Ring Supply is right on your way if you are going to Cabelas. Their mags are a little more expensive than Cabelas but the last time I was there they had a better selection in stock. In addition to Glock and AR mags I found Colt pattern 9mm mags and a couple of new Luger mags. They are across Ogletown Road from Lowe's.

Along the same lines, I will be headed down Williamsburg way next week. I know that there is supposedly a good place near Potomac Mills Mall, but I can't remember the name. Anyone know? Any other good places along my route that may have some real AR-15 magazines?

I was just at Cabelas yesterday. They are loaded with 5.56 Magpul mags but I got the last 300 Blackout. :D

Proven Arms and Outfitters, previously known as Quantico Tactical is the place in Potomac Mills. Haven't been in awhile, since they split there business. I'd hit both them and Green Top.

In my experience Cabelas has the widest selection of mags.

Xring has a smaller selection but sometimes carries different brand mags for the same gun. Lancer and ETS mags for example instead of just Magpul and Glock brand.

First State had a very limited selection of mags when I was in there. All I was looking for was 5.56 pmags which they did have. I think they may have had some glock and s&w or beretta mags but I wasnt paying too much attention to pistol mags. Very good guys though and I nice selection of rifles we can buy.

All the prices seemed to be within $2-$3 of each other.

Then you have Millers further up 40 from First State. Its been a while since I visited that one but they seemed to be more of a sporting gun store the last time I was in there. They had the smallest selection of modern mags. They also were a few dollars more than the others.

You may be thinking about Green Top (where I95/I295 split just before Richmond. The lst time I was there they had a table full of handgun mags for $10.00 each. I picked up several for my SIG 226 and 229.
