HB325, hopefully this one drives Millers Guns directly into the ground. What great big balls they have.

Sorry for the slight thread-jack. I am still in amazement at their level of arrogance and ignorance.

Delaware is one of these tricky States in the last few years, not much different than VA. So much of the State is rural/AG based economy, laid back and inhabited by reasonable people. Then you have New Castle and Wilmington where the population center is.

I really hope they are able to stand firm against the nonsense this season.

    From the DSSF:

    SECOND AMENDMENT ACTION ALERT NETWORK

    ACTION ALERT

Firearm Purchase Delay Legislation Introduced in House

Last week, House Bill 325 was introduced by state Representative Edward Osienski (D-24). This misguided legislation would go beyond federal law and extend the 3-day transfer period for NICS delays to 30 days. Please contact your Representative and politely urge them to oppose House Bill 325 when it comes up for a vote.

Current law allows a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) to release a firearm after 3 business days if they have not received any additional correspondence from NICS after receiving a "delay" when conducting the initial background check for the firearms transfer. This safeguard prevents the potential shutdown of sales via endless delays and allows law-abiding individuals to take possession of a firearm in a timely manner. House Bill 325 is a solution in search of a problem and your legislators need to hear from you!

WILL BE HEARD WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 2016 IN THE HOUSE ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE

May be heard on the floor of the House as early as Thursday, April 21, 2016

The full text of HB 325 may be read here or my links in the OP.

What will happen if HB 325 is enacted is that the FBI's NICS center will be able to unilaterally delay all transactions in Delaware for up to 30 days... and as understaffed as they are you better believe that Obama's Justice Department will do exactly that - and so would a Sanders Justice Department and a Clinton Justice Department - we know that because that's exactly what they tried to do when Bill Clinton was President.

In reality, HB 325 is nothing more than a 30-day waiting period in disguise - it is also a solution in search of a problem.... There is no evidence that any problem exists in Delaware as a result of the current system - so why are they doing it? Because they think they can - and because they know exactly what the end result will be - a 30 day waiting period, across the board in Delaware.

    CALL TO ACTION

Call and/or email each member of the House Administration Committee and politely ask them to oppose HB 325 and to vote NO on HB 325.

    Rep. Valerie Longhurst - Chairperson - 302-744-4351 - Valerie.Longlurst@state.de.us

    Rep. Peter Schwartzkopf - 302-744-4351 - Peter.Schwartzkopf@state.de.us

    Rep. John Viola - 302-744-4351 - John.Viola@state.de.us

    Rep. Deborah Hudson - 302-744-4171 - Deborah.Hudson@state.de.us

Call your Representative today - politely and respectfully ask them to oppose HB 325.

Delaware is changing and not in a good way. You have a lot of New York City area retirees moving to the shore communities, and as we all know they are incapable of leaving their NY ways behind. They know best, and you're just a country rube if you're not from the city or at a minimum right next to it. You will change your ways to suit your "sophisticated" masters.

Then you have the Jersey low-income and illegal migration into northern Delaware. The last time I was in Wilmington it reminded me a lot more of Camden than the city I used to spend time in when I was kid.

The wife and I have talked about moving there, but I'm not sure I want to any more.

They didn't waste any time did they? So am I to understand that if you pass the instant check you DON'T have to wait the 30 days?

That is correct. Keep in mind we are potentially an election away from NICS being mucked with "common sense" delays.

Emailed my senator requesting a no. I let him know the crime that happens in Dover and Wilmington are not the result of firearms being purchased at an FFL with a NICS. Very curious on the respose if any I will get from my representative who voted yes as I have emailed him as well.
