Anyone order from Buds? Hickock45s favorite sponsor?

I ordered something and got the FedEx tracking number but it's coming from Crow's Shooting Supply in IA. Bud's webpage didn't state shipped and sold from anywhere else like Amazon does.

I got my m&p45 from them....prolly 5 years ago or so. They were by far the cheapest around for the threaded barrel kit, but it took forever to finally get and customer service sucked. Not sure how it is these days.

I’ve never bought from them personally but they’ve been around for awhile and I’ve not heard any horror stories.

I stopped buying from them because they won't remove a magazine and sell you a gun only.

Buy from Gymratz. John's prices come pretty close to Bud's for several guns I have bought.

They're decent. Maybe not cheapest but it's a good place to start. And they do carry ten round magazine versions of a lot of pistols. I've got guns from them, and they've been fine.

Bought a 1911 years ago, recall no issues.

I start laughing when anyone asks about Buds. This video is VERY VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK, KIDS ETC. https://youtu.be/Fs_AiQccyPg

Same thing happened to me. I bought a CHROME Colt Special Combat From Bud’s Earlier this year. Their picture was of a Chrome one. I received a Stainless Ionbond. I didn’t realize until I took it home. I thought the grease was covering some of the shine.

I called Bud’s and they told me to take it up with Colt. Their customer service sucks.

AMEN. I agree, John is great and very competitive with his pricing. Buds won’t even ship the firearm as is with magazines. I have had my FFL in the past receive 30rd magazines and pinned them to 10 before giving them to me. Yet Buds won’t allow any MD FFL to do that because they won’t even ship anything with 10+ to MD.

Buds was a PITA when I was ordering my ar10. First CS said they would ship the rifle to me, great, I place the order. Then the order is stopped the next day, I call to see why and they say its because it isn’t a heavy barrel. I tell them and send them what MDSP told me. AR10’s are not subject to the heavy barrel requirement. Buds CS says they will pass this to management, also to their legal team. I hear nothing back. No call’s, no email. I call again to cancell my order and ask what happened in regards to my “case”, no definitive answer. They cancel order and I never hear back again.

I can understand them ignoring a small thing, like someone ordering mags or ammo, but this was a $1300 rifle purchase. Just would have thought they would give just the slightest effort to retain and help make the transaction work. I even passed along to them the MDSP Firearms Licensing Division phone number so they could take 5 minutes, call the MDSP, and confirm my purchase was legal.

Even though their prices are good, this was a huge PITA and they did not seem to care or put any effort into the situation. I take my business elsewhere.

I believe you. If you get a UPC, or model number you can go to various online stores and get different photos. I always go to the manufacturer web page for a current photo, and try to match UPC's. Another finish people get wrong info on is "deep blue" vs standard bluing. I've been looking at a Remington 552 , and current production the stock has no raised comb, but most online stores show that older stock, and only a few show newer stock all with same UPC and model number.

I've only bought two guns from there. They won't ship most guns over 10 rds to md. Their prices are decent look on gun.deals (stock market of guns lol) local gun stores before you purchase from them. There higher cc prices and shipping and tax increases it.

I've ordered 26 firearms from them over the past 6 years and only had an issue with one, which was due to the specific model (RIA Tactical 1911 Compact 9mm) not being listed by name on the Maryland Handgun Roster in 2014 - they refunded my money. They will not ship any guns with mags over 10 rounds, nor will they ship without the mags. Every gun I've purchased was actually shipped from their facility in Kentucky. I buy from them when I can catch something on sale and when the gun I want is eligible for their 90-day layaway program, and I pay by check to get the lower sale price. The only negative I can say about them is they are a little slow to post cash payments and it takes about a week for them to ship once your payment clears. Other than the one roster issue, I've had no problems with them.

Put a Bearcat on layaway a couple months ago til I got my HQL. Paid it off on a Friday, had tracking info Monday, filled out the forms on Wednesday when it arrived. Will order again.
