Buddy of mine gifted me an ak 74 receiver the other day. I've ruled out a complete parts kit due to the overly stupid prices I've seen, and have managed to track down a few of the vital parts separate, the only exception being the bolt carrier. It's my understanding that, the "stem" of a '74 bolt is smaller in diameter than a '47 bolt. Would it be possible to sleeve a '47 carrier for the smaller diameter of the '74 bolt? Or is there something else in play dimensionally that I'm not aware of?
