  • I just impulse bought a 10/22 takedown: barrel, handguard and stock (No receiver, bolt or trigger group) I wanted a threaded barrel for my existing carbine, but didn't do my homework.
Does anyone know if the takedown barrel can be installed on a "standard" carbine without significant gunsmithing?

Not w/o 'significant gunsmithing'. The takedown extension into the the receiver is much longer - may be different diameter too. The takedown bbl doesn't have a place to put the locking wedge either.
