Let's talk about charging handles.

Since suppressors cause more gas blow back, modified charging handles have been developed to reduce the amount of that blow back. (please don't bring side charging into this discussion)

What modified charging handle are you using?

I have not seen a need. I just use a standard mil spec and throw an extended lever on it. I'm cheap that way...

That’s my process also
If gas is too much I throttle it back but that’s the exception not the rule

Iíve never had a problem. BCM charging handles have a lip like the old gas busting charging handles. Those are what Iíd go with. Also, depending on what you are shooting, delayed blowback systems can help.

Most of the higher end ambidextrous handles have this feature. I have the Geissele, Radian, BCM, and POF Tomahawk charging handles and shoot suppressed routinely. The blowback benefit is modest, but there is no drawback in having a nicer handle. They aren't that expensive and are a huge upgrade over the cheap mil-spec handle.

The Geissele handles are on my suppressed guns.

I have filled up the channel in the rear of the milspec handle with gasket maker and it seems to work pretty well. I have put extended latch releases on them which makes them easier to operate.

If youíve already done the gasket mod, youíre not going to get much benefit out of a fancy charging handle. I am left handed so I spend the extra money.

From a suppression perspective, I think the radian raptor SD is the best, but the Geissele Airborne Charging handle is good too and sticks out less.

Only Magpul for me. My builders prefer the ease of Magpul parts.
