I just recently threw together a bunch of extra parts along with a barrel that I bought and an upper that a fellow MDS'r graciously gave me. I decided to make it in .300 BO as I already have a .300 BO rifle .
None of the parts are noteworthy but it all came together to make a very accurate pistol.
I want to comment on the barrel as it was inexpensive but well made. I bought it from a company called ABC barrel company. https://abcrifle.com/index.php/ar-15-parts/barrels.html
I was told that this is basically a one man shop and the guy likes to put out a good product at a reasonable price. My 8.5 inch heavy barrel was $137 shipped. The barrel is a 1 in 8 twist, Nitrided with M4 ramps and is very well done. The crown is recessed and may even be 11 degrees. The chamber is finely finished as is the bore.
Today I took it out for a run and it surprised me. I managed to put a 4x32 scope in an offset mount to see how well my rifle loads did at 50 yards. For a new barrel, I was impressed. 123gn JHP loads gave me 1/2 inch loads while my range scrap 150gn lead PC loads grouped into an inch. I put a flash can on it as my club's high power range is totally enclosed except for the wall facing the berm. With a standard muzzle brake, it can wear you out pretty fast.
I did have some operations issues but I will put them in a separate post. Sorry, no pics.
