I have a bull barrel on an AR and I want to swap it out for a lighter one but still have good accuracy. Any suggestions? Want to stay with 16 inch carbine gas set up too

Im in Delaware. Found a few interesting possibilities. From what I have read, fluting saves about 1/2 pound

Then the bigger question is how much you want to spend on an accurate barrel and what do you mean as 'accurate'?

Fluting reduces weight, but also reduces barrel stiffness.

Basically a fluted barrel is no stiffer than a non-fluted barrel of the same weight.

If you want accurate, heavy barrel is the way to go.

Deer hunting accurate. 1 inch at 100

At what range are you shooting deer? 400yds and you just need a 2MOA rifle for deer, though sure 1MOA would be a lot better. Shooting them at a Maryland typical 30-80yds and 5MOA is just fine.
