I have some magpul followers for a 30 rd mag. What do I have to do to make them work for a 20 rd?

Followers should be the same I would think. But the springs would be different.

Why make multiple followers for different capacity mags? It makes no sense from an inventory and economic standpoint.

Are there? AFAIK, the ''improved, winged" followers were a fix for 30 round mags that originally came with the original 20 round followers(that tended to tilt and miss-feed). All my mags.(30 rnd. USGI) have ant-tilt followers of different manufacturers. They were all upgraded by me and they all function flawlessly to date.
