That happened many many years ago. Let's just say, my AR-education began at the School of Hard Knocks, before I transfered to SOTAR
(even with a fixture, I still get a little twitchy when torquing barrel-things. 
I can still hear that "Ping!" crystal clear in my memory 
)Part of me wants to put my aluminum welding and grinding skills to the test to try to fix it...but I kinda like keeping it as a reminder.
I also sometimes wonder if it would function as is...certainly not enough to try it...but I do wonder...

I swear, it must be contagious. I had to do an emergency brake job last night. The 14mm upper caliper bolt was seized, and the bolt snapped off, so now I have to get it extracted, the caliper/bracket welded, or the whole caliper replaced. PB Blaster did squat. That's what I am afraid of doing to the upper cranking on it.
