Just Got It NOW!

Its been a while for me but I stopped in a local place and was just browsing and asked if they had any C&R handguns and took a chance on this Walther PP. I dont know much about them but have been learning some since I purchased it. I hate buying blind but I hope I did ok on this one and I dont have any non-import mark c&r's currently so I kind of wanted it.

Here is what I think I have.

1944 Military PP, non-import mark with matching numbers. WaA359 Waffenamt on slide and frame as well as two proofs by the ejection port and barrel, with two era correct mags and what I believe to be appropriate grips. I think the holster is repro but I cannot find any identifying marks. There are a few places where something is blacked out but not sure what is under there.

Can you show us a picture of the markings on the left side of the slide? That's additional information we can use to confirm the identity. Plus a picture of the holster may help determining if it's a repro.

Edited: pictures arrived while I was typing!

Nice!! It's funny how stuff comes in waves. Good news is that it came at the right time when you could jump on it. It sucks having to let a wonderful bargain slip away 'cause it came at the wrong time. Though that gets a little bit easier as you get older and the bucket list is down to a few items.

Not so much fun when you are mid 30s, your bucket list is as long as your arm, you just bought a new house and are nervously waiting for your old one to sell AND your wife doesnít want you buying more guns (period. Though I am sure I can wiggle a few in, in time).

It hasnít been a good time for nearly a year now between one thing and another

Iíd really love a PP or PPK in .32acp to go with my P1 some day.

At least the dealer C&R market has been slow since last summer. I still count myself lucky I got my license when I did. Oh, sure, 3-4 years ago (let alone 20!!!) would have been nicer. Still, I managed a P1, Cz50, Cz82, M57, P64 and an SKS out of the deal. I am sad I didn’t grab a K33 or K11 carbine when I could have last summer. A bit more than I wanted to spend at the time. Live and learn. Maybe I’ll have a shot some future year.

Eyeing those Romanian TT33s a bit. But not worth my marriage and money being tight...maybe they got enough in they’ll still have some in a year or so. Have a friend with a 1903 which might be my next firearm purchase when I can. Though a modern gun might be my next play. I’d really like that new Ruger 22lr single action they just announced. Be a nice gun to train my kids with, cheap plinking and good rattle around my property gun to deal with ground hogs and foxes without hauling my 10/22.

Why did we need to make so many different types of guns? Like my kids ranged pokeman. I just want to collect them all.
