Is this the first time shooting with the can? Sounds like several shots were striking the baffles ("First shot I got a little shrapnel in the face...Took a second shot same thing...)"

I would check the flash hider/brake. Was the barrel re-threaded or the hider/brake threaded on wrong?

I don't see how it's possible to mount the AAC can incorrectly due to operator error. I've got like a box of them and have been shooting them for years. Not possible to screw it up.

Strongly suggest looking into the ammo or at the hider/brake.

I respectfully disagree it's not possible to mount incorrectly. It didn't twist in as much as it should've. It caught up somehow. I know what I saw and what I experienced. The CAN did not completely cover the mount and it blew back at me.

Yes I shot it twice. I didn't know it was not fully on. I shot once got some blow back in the face. Thought it was the ammo, shot again and saw it smoking from where it mounted and realized something was not right.

As always YMMV. I took it off, saw how little it was screwed in. Reattached it with 4-5 twists not the 1-2 it had before. And shot the same ammo no problem. However it hung up on installation that time it did. There's plenty of stories about people literally shooting the CAN down the range. It happens.

Got the cam back today seems to be all better.
So took about 6 weeks from original post to being returned. No charge to fix.

Six weeks is a long time for service. Justifies having backup cans

So do I back up with the same QD can I already have or go for a different brand?
Risking buying a whole new set of adapters.
