I was picking up some more CFE Pistol (Cover Six Tactical) and was asked to try the new Winchester 572. It is close to CFE with lower pressures, I loaded up some test rounds and thought my results might be appreciated.
I tested in various barrel lengths of G26, G19, and the S2K with it’s 16” barrel. Bullets used are the Xtreme 124 gr. RN, R-P and FC brass.
I have shot about 1200 rounds of strictly the 5.0 gr. and 5.5 gr. CFE over the last month and noticed very little difference in the way they shoot (CFE vs 572) The high end of the 572 did seem softer than fast CFE loads. Some of the primers were flat but not completely!!
Format is ____ fps (# of rnds used) Stdev.
The bullets traveling at 1400 fps did not create unusual holes in paper which I thought would due to the higher speeds and plated bullets. Best groups were 5.0 gr. 572. All of the fps. spreads were within 50.
I would appreciate any comments on my data or the powder.

I was hoping the same thing BYF. The old 571 was the same powder as Hodgdon HS-7. Never heard of 572. Did some searching and found that it is a very versatile powder. If you look at hodgdon's load data on their website, you'll find data for it in several calibers, including, 9mm, 40 SW and others. It is slower burning than 231. I looked at 40 SW and Hodgdon shows a max of 5.7 gr with 180 gr. Judging by the data for 45 ACP 230 gr max load, it should fit in the middle between CFE Pistol and Autocomp. Hope this helps
