    Success today
Well, I did not expect accuracy so I shot at 25 yards. Accuracy was better than I could aim cause with just a single front blade sight it was difficult to be consistent on the vertical. If I can figure out how to do that it will not be too bad.
I shot all at 25 yards with a front support and 70grains of 2F. First was some traditional paper cartridges with .648 balls. Then a patched .620 ball. Then finally wood rasp dimpled .675 balls.

There really was not much difference that was noticeable.

The flint lasted about 13 shots total including about 5 dry fires to test the spark and flash in the pan. Then a few misfires telling me it was time for knapping (and maybe an afternoon nap)

For cleaning it was not too bad to pull the 3 bands the. Tang screw and clean the barrel.

Hell, that's not a bad group for rifle with no rear sight! You have to knock your head over to the left to adjust for windage.

As for your flint not lasting too long, try to change the angle by putting a thin piece of leather at the bottom rear of the flint.

It looks like a nice rifle, I wish you all the best with it.

Thats a good idea, A piece of flattened lead folded over as you need it will also work and helps to deaden the blow to the frizzen at the same time, keeps the top jaw screw tight too if that starts to happen.

just pound a .490 rb flat with a hammer
