Who would have predicted Hogan back in 2010 ? Or Trump in '12 ?

Md GOP doesn't have a strong bench of heir apparents standing by in the usual springboard positions . Andy Harris decide to leave Congress to run for Gov ? Usually that flows the other direction .

The top GOP contenders for 2022 will either be not currently in Politics , or substantially reinvent themselves in the intervening time .

I wish Hogan would read these threads. Then he'd discover the previously unknown power he has in his office. With one fell swoop Jealous wil unilaterallyl be able to end our gun rights, take every dime we make, and flip the government to full blow democratic socialist Venezuelan style rule.

If Hogan knew he had that kind of power maybe he wouldve resisted signing some of those anti Bill of Rights laws he so gleefully signed.

I guarantee he has trolls who check on MDS posts and report back to him that the firearms community is still firmly in his court. Go ahead and infringe all you want, they still have your back!

Political calculus was performed, and as 2A is tiny group of people, we're easily marginalized. Hogan knows he doesn't need us, period. Yet, a vast majority here will vote for him because...he infringes on our natural birth rights at an acceptable rate/level...?

I don't get it, but I'm not casting your ballot, so vaya con dios.

As long as the fear is fomented by both parties and swallowed eagerly by overwhelming portions of the electorate, the political spectrum moves inexorably away from individual liberty. They win, we lose.

Gun grabbers can kiss my ass. Hogan gleefully signed bills, with the enemies of our personal freedoms, to grab our guns. Fvck him.

Thanks for those resources, I’ll take a look.

I found a site called ontheissues.org that compiles a candidates views and stated positions. There was a bit more info on him there. I especially like his position against Obamacare, for school vouchers, for ending EPA overreach, opposing preferential policies for green energy, and his belief that 2A is an absolute right.

You make it sound like a bad thing. I would hope he has his ear to the ground.

The #neverhoganers can't make up their minds.

First, they complain that Hogan doesn't listen to the firearms community or care what we think.

Then, they say that Hogan has "trolls" who monitor us and report back to him because he's so concerned about what we think.

    Hello?

Things will be one heck of a lot worse with BJ in power.
Things VERY much worse and not talking just about 2A.
He's no Idiot to know what state he is in and how many Democrats there are. He won over the independents by staying as close to center as he needs to be. Staying center includes NOT running around banning more stuff than was already banned. BJ will do that in a heartbeat.

I think the choice is simple. Would we like Hogan to be more 2A friendly? YES. Do we think Hogan will do anything to help the 2A community? Probably not.

If elected, would Ben Jealose be friendly toward the 2A community? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Will Ben Jealose do anything to hurt the 2A community? YES.

If there are 10 votes cast, 4 go to Hogan, 5 go to Jealose and 6 go to OTHER candidates(because the 2A community doesn't vote for Hogan but someone who they feel good about), then what have we done? You know Jealose is going to get X number of votes. Hogan will get Y number of votes. Those Z votes will determine the outcome of this election. There's no if, ands or buts about it. Take away the Never-Hogan voters and the state is given to Jealose. That's the hard, cold facts of this election. I don't think you're going to see as many Demwits voting for Hogan this year. So he needs all of the votes he can get. Sure, it would be nice to get a more friendly 2A governor, but it's NOT going to happen this year. You better search deep down and think, what's the better choice. It's not voting for someone who has no chance of winning the election (3rd party candidate). So you're going to vote however you want, but if Hogan loses, it's very possible your vote helped Jealose win the election.

Actually, if you look at one of his campaign videos, he doesn't know what state he is in.

I wonder how many votes the down-ticket Republican candidates are losing because of the #neverhogan crowd here. Good candidates like Craig Wolf for AG.

To the uninspired, ambivalent, angry, first-time, or occasional voters: You don't have to vote for every race. Leave any blank that you don't know about or can't support, but PLEASE vote. Please go to the polls and vote for CRAIG WOLF for Attorney General, even if you're not inclined to vote for governor.

FYI, wife and I voted for Wolf, Campbell and Quinn. See how easy that was. And like I’ve stated before, I voted for Hoagie the first time but never again for anything.

I didn't direct my comments to you. But I do hope that you and others haven't dampened the enthusiasm of any would-be Wolf voters from voting at all.

He needs all the votes that everyone can help muster, and some of those are likely straight-ticket voters, starting at the top.

Quinn, Wolf and Campbell have no prior voting record so I gave them the benefit of doubt.
