I have on of these on its way to me now. This is probably the only way I will ever get remotely close to actually owning one of these. :party29: After reading all the reviews it seemed like a good idea to also get the stick mag as well. It does have the "bolt handle" on the side instead of on top where it should be, but otherwise it looks like an accurate replica. I also have a 15% discount code. The one I bought is now OOStock, but they do have the WWII Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body versions in stock for $159.95. https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Thompson_M1A1_Full_Metal_Body_AEG/1304

Too bad I live in idiotic MoCo so I can't just shoot it in my yard. :sad20:

My kids have moved out; but back in the day, we used to have air soft battles in the woods behind the house. Funny thing is, kids from anti 2A households always participated :)

A couple of years ago, I got to fire the real deal at TMGN using a groupon. That was a blast in every sense of the word. I will probably set up an indoor range so I can play with this more often.

https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Thompson_M1A1_Full_Metal_Body_AEG/1304 There is a 15% FRIDAY-15 code good until midnight today.

Save your pennies and buy a real one while you can. You can't own a semi in MD but you can still buy the real thing (makes sense, rght). I finally found my unicorn at a relatively decent price (all things considered) a couple of years ago. They are still out there.

You can own a Semi in MD if you NFA it.
Before 2013 I bought a 16" barreled M1A Thompson semi-auto from Auto Ordnance. Once it arrived I filed for the tax stamp and waited like a good boy. The stamp came in I ordered the short barrel from Auto Ordnance and then re-barreled and engraved it and done!

Now just find a dealer who can "manufacture", and ask them to order the gun and barrel, file the paperwork, and swap the barrel.

IT IS WORTH the wait. They are so much fun. You will thank me.

I thought post-2013 all new SBRs had to be on the handgun roster.

All I can say is what my wife said some years ago about them.

"Why you call it fun, when you have to reload for weeks and spend hours reloading magazines just for a half hour of shooting, I'll never know.":lol2:

    I could do that.
I don't know how realistic the buy it now price is, but $30,000? Current bid is $8000 on gunbroker. I think my $200 air gun will make me happy enough. It isn't real, but I think it looks and feels real enough (based on the reviews I read). As it is, I'm already wondering what I will do with any firearms I may or may not already own. My late wife never accused me of being practical, but I just can't envision myself putting tons of money into a real firearm like that.

Think a realistic price is 22 to 25 k depending on the model, condition, and history ... but yep, it is not an impulse buy for sure. I've wanted one since I was 4, so for me it was the centerpiece of my collection. My wife was very understanding. I'm pretty lucky that way. She is the number one thing on my list of what I'm thankful for.

I was around 9 years old when I saw my first real one in a museum. It was a beautiful work of art. It was probably one of the Capone guns because he used to visit that city back in the day. My father actually met Capone once. Then there was the TV show, Combat! I hope to satisfy most of my desires with the air rifle. If not, it's only a $200 expense.

My new toy arrived and it very nice looking. Since the bolt on it is a total fake, I don't know why they don't have it on top like it should be. Oh well. It is still nice looking.
