My 300 BO Magpuls shoot 55gn .223 rounds with no problems.

I make it a point not to take AR's in multiple calibers to the range. While it is convenient for people who don't shoot much or live far from a range, I have seen a couple of blow ups and don't want it to happen to me. :D

Anybody try the Lehigh Defense 194 Maximum Expansion rounds?

One video shows issues with them in Magpul 5.56 mags.

I use these in my .300(and lots of others are they are pretty popular), but as mentioned I don't run the magpul mags. I'd imagine that if the COAL was fine to cycle in other mags, why wouldn't they feed in a magpul?

I think it also depends on the bullet shape too. I saw one pmag feed 220 fine but 200 had some issues.

The Magpuls have a ribs internally that interfere with long bullets without enough taper.

So do aluminum mags work better for 300?

If that's the case I might switch to aluminum for 300 only. It helps keep you from accidentally shooting the wrong ammo too.

I like using USGI. I like Lancers but if you read their website the 300BO mags are made for subs and they recommend their regular mags for supers. That's just too complicated IMO.

I just like to use one mag type for 5.56 and a completely different one for .300. That way I can easily tell which is which and if I do I mag change I will instantly know by feel which caliber is in my hand. Currently pmags are for .300. Debating on switching that but I don't want to confuse my brain any further. Maybe I'll just get a few .300BO mags for subs only reliability.

I shoot AE 220's in my regular gen 2/3 Magpul mags with zero issues. I don't shoot enough 300BLK to label the mags differently but I should.
