MD SBR OAL of 26" would pretty much make my scorpion useless in my eyes. Therefore I will keep it a pistol. However, I would like to add a VFG and supressor. That would mean a Form 4 AOW for the VFG + Form 4 Supressor. Would adding a VFG AOW to a scorpion with a Pistol Brace constitute a SBR under 26"? Below is my current config. Added a Tailhook Mod Arm Brace.

How much do you need / want that VFG? It's going to cost you an extra $200 stamp. Could you run an AFG instead?

That would mean a Form 4 AOW for the VFG + Form 4 Supressor.

Actually no, it would mean a Form 1 to make it in to an AOW (which is a $200 stamp) and a Form 4 if you buy the suppressor or Form 1 if you make it yourself. Either one is another $200 stamp.

    The key to remember is:
If you are buying it from someone else, it's a Form 4.
If you are making it yourself, it's a Form 1.

A Form 4 for an AOW purchase is only $5, but a Form 1 to make an AOW is $200.

Would adding a VFG AOW to a scorpion with a Pistol Brace constitute a SBR under 26"?

No, because it would not be an SBR. It would be an AOW. In any case, in MD all new SBRs must be 29" anyways.

An AOW workaound: if you can find a manufacturer to make the AOW (tax free) they can form 4 to you for $5. Of course your gun goes in detention while waiting for the stamp. Nothing in this racket is easy...

AFG it is. I am seriously considering suppressing it however. I do know that there is a 922r requirement for Rifle/SBR. But does that also apply to my CZ which is configured still as a pistol?

If any MDS IP's want to manufacture some AOW's, I'd be down to pick up a Scorpion and Zenith MP5 clone with vertical foregrips and arm braces this year.
