After two, almost three decades at the same place, Mrs. Zoo is looking at other jobs. Nothing to do with her, just a new ownership type of deal.

Thirty years in health care, as an admin assistant/office manager for most of that time. Does everything from insurance billing to payroll to schedule management to you pretty much name it if it involves running a complicated outfit with 700+ clients. She can work in health care but is also interested in other fields, tells me one thing she is interested in would be getting a start in HR.

Feel free to PM for more info. Thanks.

She may want to think about the local school system. You've got the central HR department plus each school usually has an office manager and a registar. Plus its a gov job so benefits should be good.

+1 for the school system. Could even collect a pension if she is there for 10 years (current MD Retirement System vesting period).

Maybe your local health department as well?

Private schools are another option. My wife is an Admin Asst with a private school here in MoCo. Good money, great benefits (best health insurance we've ever had) great liberal leave policies, Christmas vacation off, spring break off, Thanksgiving week off, SNOW DAYS! etc. etc. etc.
