Doesn't this effectively let out-of-state people "vote" in the Virginia election process? "Screw what Virginian's decided, let's do something else!"

I posted this in another thread ,but it is worth repeating now that Virginia is lost.

Please Read and look at the map in the link

National Popular Vote Compact nullifies Electoral College. In these States , the winner of the National Popular Vote will be awarded the Electoral College Vote even if they loose at the State level.

From the article"The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The compact is designed to ensure that the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide is elected president, and it would come into effect only when it would guarantee that outcome.[2][3] As of January 2020, it has been adopted by fifteen states and the District of Columbia. Together, they have 196 electoral votes, which is 36.4% of the Electoral College and 72.6% of the 270 votes needed to give the compact legal force."

I'm used to seeing states strip away their citizens' rights, but my oh my seeing a state strip away their own rights is laughable. What kind of a world do we live in! What happens if a republican candidate gets popular majority? Pendulum Politics undefeated

lemme get this straight. The state will award its electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. Therefore, by definition, it is bastardized straight democracy (mass rule). The whole point of the United States being a representative democracy (or republic, if you will) is to prevent that very thing.
