The only one I kind of lust for anymore is a sniper

A guy had one I think it was in the smaller hall at the Nations gun show for about $1100. That is by far the least I"ve seen them lately. I did not look at it though so could not attest it was not a put together one or original (which are all refurbed of course).

That is a hateful amount of money for a Mosin

LOL! You’ve obviously not priced WWII snipers from any other country :D

$1100 is low end of market for a legit, refurbed Izhevsk sniper. Tulas will be a few hundred dollars more. Expect to pay $1300+ for an Izhevsk and 1500+ for a Tula.

“Resnipered” rifles are case by case and made up snipers (non-snipers drilled and tapped for PU scope) are sum total of parts used.

No worries, you're in good company! Live long enough and it's a full time job running to keep up with inflation of all kinds in the 2A collector market. Snipers and other niche items even more so.
I find myself routinely bookmarking 50-100 auction lots and GB listings during a week just to see what they sell for. A necessity when the M27 you bought for $250 fifteen years ago is now selling for $750. Easy to leave money on the table when it's time to let go of stuff.

    This one IS mine.
Pulled it out of a crate during the original “MDS/Keepshooting Mosinapolooza”. I believe it was $75/rifle and $75/440rd tin of ammo.

Loved that event. It was $65 a rifle if you bought 5 or more……..that’s um, what I heard anyway.

It's crazy how much mosins are going for now. You have to wonder how many are still in underground bunkers waiting to be sold to the US.

Welcome to the club! Def. needs a separate, in-depth thread with more photos. One of the rarer pieces in my arsenal, most Mosin collectors will never get the chance to own or even see one.
For me, the closest I've come to a Cossack is a pair of Czech KA3 marked M91/38s. An original Cossack is a real challenge to find. But it can be done given lots of hard work and a pinch of luck. A deep wallet doesn't hurt either.
