Maybe not this year....maybe not next year, but eventually they will get what they want. Guns are being vilified in our culture. We are a generation (or less) away from fruits of this stupidity.

The consequences remain to be seen.

They had it once for 10 years. It proved ineffective.

    That's one bit of encouragement.

The title of the bill makes perfect sense

When i read that last night it stuck out for me too. Funny thing is the right to keep and bear arms is already limited.

The fact that it was even drafted is troubling

Drafted by those who in their own delusions have no idea that it is THEY whom the 2nd Amendment was written to protect from, while they pontificate how it's all about hunting and shooting at flying orange disks.

Easy work around...If Bruce Jenner can put on a dress and call himself Caitlyn, I can put a compass in the stock of my AR and call it a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun....same logic liberals use ! ! !

Not much chance of passing in 2016. It's an election year and the Congressp*ssies won't take a chance on upsetting the NRA or the millions of gun owners. They just sign on to look good to the media and not draw attention to being "pro-gun". The bill will probably die in Committee and have to be re-submitted next session.

This 100%! I completely think that's what will happen.

Unreal. Thy didn't leave many things out of that one.

I truly cannot believe that even a heat shield on a shotgun is proposed to be banned. WTF is wrong with these idiots? It literally spells out that it is a safety device to prevent the user from burning themselves. And that is an evil feature? Give me a break.

The liberal focus group just picked everything that looked "scary"

Notice the severability clause at the very end. If parts are found unconstitutional only those parts are removed. They are pushing a unconstitutional law hoping for years of fights in the courts, and then only small parts can be fought.

The devil is in the details:

    46) The term ‘pistol grip’ means a grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip.

    A) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the following:

    “(i) A pistol grip.

A semiautomatic shotgun that has any 1 of the following:

    ii) A pistol grip.

Every firearm has a characteristic that can function as a grip. It must have that in order to hold it. It becomes a defacto ban on all semi-auto long guns.

Also notice the list of exempted firearms that are non-semiauto. If the ban does not impact single shot, pump, or lever action why do they need an exemption?
