I own, shoot and carry a standard p365 and am completely satisfied with the way it carries and shoots. I use the 12 round mags.

Me as well. I carry it daily. My only quibble is that I have long fingers and hitting the mag release is not as smooth and quick as I'd like. Great little gun though. It's made me consider picking up the 320.

My 365 has been a fantastic pistol.

The only thing is, and this is a first for me, but the curved trigger that came with it felt like it was beating my trigger finger up.

Replaced it with a factory flat trigger, and it's been wonderful since.

Side note: anytime tried the mag guts internals for these?

The 320 has been completely game changing for me. Was never a fan of striker fired pistols, especially their triggers. But I absolutely adore this platform. Both as a duty weapon and a competition gun.

I did the same and it made a world of difference.

I have mag guts in my 10 and 12 round mags. They have worked fine through about 500 rounds so far.

I went into a gunshop in Gettysburg to look at the P320 last week and ended up buying an X-Compact. Dam thing just felt so good in my hand. What I have read about them has been good.

Man. I am a Glock guy (not because I think Glocks are better than sig, hk, sw, walther, cz, whatever) but because that's just what I started with, and I saw no reason to change. Don't see a need for multiple different full size or compact plastic wonderguns. I like to pick a platform and stick to it, and I happened to pick Glock when I was 21.

But I picked up a 365 the other day and I am in LOVE. Before that my carry was G43 for pocket carry or G43X/48 for IWB. I find myself pocket carrying more than I'd like because of work, but whatever. It's fine.

I picked it up and drove it straight to the range. Put 100 FMJ and 20 JHP through it. It is better in every way than the G43. Every way. (Assuming the problems that plagued the design at release have all been fixed.) Smaller, more rounds, less felt recoil, comes with better sights out of the box...just great. Couldn't be happier with it. I rock it in a Vedder pocket holster (awesome) or a Talon Training Group Wallet Holster if I'm seriously concerned about printing (almost never).

I don't get the XL at all.

It does feel better on the store. But the normal 365 is a joy to shoot. So WHY do you need the larger one? If you are going to carry it, it buys you a couple of extra rounds, but you can carry a non-XL with the 12 round mag and still be smaller than an XL.

The same reason someone might choose at G48 over a G43X. Some people are convinced the longer slide radius gives them better accuracy. Technically that's true but in a self defense situation I seriously doubt anyone would notice. Some people say there is less felt recoil and follow up shots are ever so slightly easier (I find this to be true a little bit.) But the main reason I normally reach for the 48 over the 43X, though, is that the long slide makes it easier for me to carry. Maybe it's just my body type, but the longer slide makes the gun hug my body a little bit more.

Probably the same argument for the 365XL. That, and 2 more rounds.

I thought about selling my 43X/48 and getting a 365X or 365XL...but I like my 48/43X. I guess I'll just have to break my rule and carry different brands :-)

The P365 also uses an FCU, which gives you a lot more flexibility in how you can configure the pistol on an everyday basis. You don't really need to choose between the XL and the normal grips, you can buy both.

I’m in the same boat. Always been a glock guy because that’s what I got as my first handgun in my early 20’s.

Just got the P365X the other day and got a chance to shoot it. I love this little thing. Can’t wait to eventually get a carry permit.

Coincidentally just got my Recluse pocket holster for mine this week after several months on order- these are outstanding retention holsters with the unique and very secure trigger block preventing AD. Very well made and they hold up great over regular use. Took a couple of pictures showing the draw style, it’s a straight in, grip, and pull straight up as the holster separates from the hand motion. I’ve used their holsters for years with my LCP and LCP II but another great option when I don’t want IWB Kydex which is my normal carry method with the P365.

I have not used a holster like this. I'm about a year and half into possessing W&C. I have only used AIWB since I was blessed by the state to carry. What's your take on draw time between the two? I dry practice with AIWB and I'm confident about getting on target pretty quickly. Do you feel pocket draw is comparable? Are you wearing jeans, khakis, or something else?

I’m not practicing fast draw but I would say it’s comparable to the IWB. My IWB’s run under an untucked shirt so two movements to draw, and practicing the Recluse draw over time I’d say about the same. Recluse fits in normal pockets, I carry mine in front right when I carry one and no sign of carrying anything than possibly a wallet.

If you’re into AIWB you should try Tier 1 Concealed, they are some amazing holsters. I’ve got them for G26 and G43x w/TLR-6. I know the rig looks big and cumbersome and it might be hard to believe the G43x with light and a spare Shield Arms mag can disappear under a T-shirt with no printing but it’s true.

Great timing on this thread-- Mrs. River just picked out a P365 SAS for herself today. Looking forward to running a few rounds through it...if she lets me:)

My son runs a holster that looks quite a bit like this one with his G19 and light but it's manufactured by T-Rex Arms--he swears by it. Looks uncomfortable as all hell to me.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a big fan of AIWB. Every shooting video I've seen where there's a successful defense seems to be AIWB. The fact that they are mostly in Brazil is interesting. :)

I'll take a look at these Tier 1 Concealed rigs. Thanks.
