Security guard on Aberdeen proving ground

At this time aberdeen proving ground directorate of emergency services is hiring 12 new security guards. This position has the possibility to direct hire into the apg police department. It is a federal service job so retirement healthcare dental and vision. Link is attached. Waivers for federal service are authorized.

I have been turned down by every Federal agency to date for that same reason. I gave up.

Usually Army 0085 Security Guards positions are always restricted to vets. I guess they figure it's a no special skills required and has on the job training so there's always unemployed vets around to fill the slots.

And doesn't veteran "status" mean if you were deployed or serving during a campaign? Not just "in the service at any time".

Sure. Deployed veteran is a 5 point status, disabled vet is a 10 point status, and any other vet that doesn’t qualify for 5 or 10 is just a 1 point preference.

from my understanding from one of the police officers, they can grant waivers for this.
