It's going to be one hell of a fight. And without a filibuster proof majority...we may still loose.

No worries, the republicans hold a majority. They can just change the rules like Harry Reid did. Turnabout is fair play, right?

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.

Sure... Until one guy who nearly lost his seat decides not to play..

R majority is slim.. just lost one and also got cheated out out of taking out dirty Harry and his machine.. plus he must deliver.. soon.

I don't want a Fox TV talking head sitting on SCOTUS.

Find someone who has a good track record of ruling and put them in please.

Thomas Hardiman is only 50 years old and had an outstanding dissent in the Drake case and is on Trump's list.
Another alternative is a current or former US Senator. What I've heard is getting a senator confirmed is a breeze; that body tends to look out for its own members Democrats or GOP.

Need someone who is as self-confident and tough as Scalia and Trump, who won't be corrupted and veer Left like, e.g. Stevens and Souter did. The last thing we need is somebody who does a 180 in philosophy after s/he is sworn in for life tenure.

I like Senator Lee, but putting Senator Cruz on the court would help clear the playing field for any R challenge in 2020.

Interesting thought... and I want Cruz on SCOTUS... but the reality may be a little different.

I still don't see Trump filling a full term. I see Pence-Rubio in 2020, so Cruz as a challenger is not happening there.

Cruz has the potential to be a solid jurist, and is praised by none other than Alan Dershorwicz (sp?)
