    Ah, such words of wisdom (where have legislators, regulators, enforcers, solicitors and judicial mediators heard THIS refrain, before?):

    The FAA sets regulations on airspace restrictions, as well as for drones, etc., including the very high restrictions on airspace around DC. State laws do not come into play in that regard.

    Those laws will be preempted on the safety side. The question in the long-run is whether some of the other issues related to drones (privacy/peeping toms, trespassing) are better handled through state/local laws or case law. Generally those types of petty crime issues are handled locally.

    What is going to be really interesting to see is how the state handles airspace. As it stands now, people can not buy or own airspace, so it will be interesting how the precedent will be set for such laws.
