I recently moved back to MD from California in April 21 and I am trying to sell a Kimber Stainless Target II...where is the best place to sell in MD?

Do you already have a buyer lined up and are looking to transfer, or do you want to consign it (or outright just sell it to a dealer to get rid of it...which would be the fastest although least profitable route)?

My bet is he's selling it on MDS.

Don't have classified access yet? No problem. Just start a thread asking where to sell it.

Meanwhile back @ post #5 , depending upon the parameters , the answer could include :

    1. Sell outright to Local Gun Store.
    2. Consignment w/ LGS
    3. Private Individual thru MDS , your gun club, word of mouth, etc , transfered using MSP Barracks
4 As #3 , but transfered thru FFL
    5. Advertise in Collector Forum dedicated to that type of firearm
    6. Specialized Auction House

    Or finally :

    7. It's worth more to you for its practical value as a gun , than current cash market value ( unless you need every last dollar to put food on the table) .

For straight out selling to a dealer ( stand up , reasonably honest dealer ) , the typical rule of thumb is to buy for 2/3 of their expected asking price on their shelf as a used gun , with failsafe of also being meaningfully less than their current wholesale price with any promotions or dealer incentives from mfg or distributors . Subject of course to anticipated local demand for quick turnover , how much of same/ similar merchandise they already have in inventory .

But yes , this is quickest with least hassle path . Go to a couple of nearby / likely dealers , and see what they offer . Generally , you can get a lot better return to trade against another firearm in their current inventory than cash money .

Consignment will net you more $ , but some degree of time lag , instead of instant payout . But still minimal hassle for you .

BTW, don't forget to sell it within 90 days of you have to register it.
