That is the new and improved container for powder.
When I am home, I will post a picture of the old cardboard containers.
I've got a couple of those, too. Hercules (not Alliant!) 2400, Green Dot, Unique.
I've got about a pound (probably less) Bullseye in an old 8lb 'keg' that's cardboard, and the lid is the same diameter as the keg, itself.
My, how times have changed!
Uncle Duke,
It'll shoot just fine!!
I recently gave an un-opened pound of W-760 to a friend of mine, to load his .270 Win.
The can looked exactly like your old can of 748.
I heard that he took a nice 10 pointer in Nebraska, with ammo loaded from that pound, on Saturday.
Distance........ 376 yards. 130 grain boolit.
Been doing some organizing in the reloading room to accommodate all the supplies that I've been stocking up on lately, needed more room... lol
Came across a few oldies that I've had for a bit....
Loaded some 300blk load with this ol container of H110
Had these few old containers of Herc powders and some primers that have been there for a bit too....
I need to look through my bullet boxes.... probably have a few relics with price tags on em on that shelf... lolYeah, just a bit! What gets me to shaking my head is some of the price tags on some of the older stuff I still have. I still have some $12.90per 1000 primers and $6.85 Hornady .224 bullets from yesteryear.
I think I paid about $7 for the first pound of powder I ever bought (Bullseye).
I think I paid about $7 for the first pound of powder I ever bought (Bullseye).
If memory serves me, I think I paid around $9.00 for Unique, when I started loading.
CCI Primers were somewhere around 1/2¢ apiece.
I still have a brick (1,000) of Federal primers, that I got for less than $14.00.
