Thinking about buying a 700CDL, probably in .30-06. Primarily for hunting, and I like the versatility of the cartridge, especially with handloads as I've loaded a lot of '06. I own a couple of 700's in other chamberings, and I like my 700's a lot, but both of mine are 30 years old or more.

Thoughts on the newer 700CDL? Any notable changes in the newer 700 for better or worse nowadays? Decent trigger? And if a member thinks there's another make I should be looking at in a comparable price range? I'm all ears.

    Appreciate the input folks!

Nothing wrong with the 700cdl the new triggers are ok but easy enough for a competent gunsmith to tune. I will say take a look at the savage 114 american classic it has a nice wood stock and can be had in stainless.
