Was wondering if there is any IP's here that could change out a barrel on a Garand? I will be ordering the barrel and just need the old one replaced. If not an IP, any decent gunsmith will work but figured I'd check here first.

    Thanks!

Back in the dark ages when I got my first CMP M1 Garand, I personally took it over to Fulton Armory and asked them to re-barrel it. They took it in, and called me a few days later to come pick it up.

They don't work that way now, and moreover they're not an IP.

    Another vote for Shuff's.

Sent him a new Criterion bbl and my stripped barreled receiver.

Had it back in a week with the new tube installed.

    Could not be happier.

Appreciate the recommendations. I contacted Charlie and have my appointment set for next week!

Quick note, make sure if you use your GPS, you select the CATONSVILLE address, and not Baltimore. For some reason my GPS (Google maps) auto selected the Baltimore address and sent me down into the ghetto.
