I have a big Whirpool branded electric water heater with lifetime warranty that I've removed from service. If anyone wants this, it's yours! Just bring a strong back to help get it up a flight of stairs and out of my basement.

    Here's the situation:

It's about 10 years old. It's a "pre-ban" 80 gallon conventional electric unit with a computer control system that's given me nothin but trouble. It uses 5500 watt elements, but has a computer and thermal sensors instead of the normal thermostats that most water heaters use.

The company is good about sending new parts for free when the thing fails, but I'm on my 3rd "computer" and now that failed so I decided to give up and replaced it with a Rheem 50 gal.

I'm not sure if it can be retrofitted with normal thermostats or not, but the tank is in good shape, doesn't leak, and might be useful to someone needing a big, heavily insulated 80 gallon storage tank.

PM me if interested. Located in Millersville - near Benfield and 97.
