Yeah... I wish tables worked here :(

You can always make one in Excel or Word, screen shot it, then crop it and upload!

Silencer Reasearch is where I got the info. You need to register, but it is free. They videos of each of the suppressors being shot so you can hear the differnce in them.

Good info over there on all types of suppressors. It's a new site, only been online about 6 months, but he is completely independent of the manufacturers. No bias, No BS

What are the procedures to aquire a suppressed weapon?

It's pretty simple really. As long as you are willing to do a little extra paper work and wait a little while.

There are many NFA dealers in Maryland, finding one in you area shouldn't be a problem.

Check out the NFA FAQ . Feel free to contact me with any specific questions about the process.

I'd like to see how the Liberty Suppressor's and Zak's new Thunderbeast brand suppressors work.

Hey, print that table from excel or word as a pdf, then cut the table from the pdf and save it as a JPEG using MS Paint or Mac Previewer and repost.

Has anyone had any experience with radical. 22 suppressors? I recently took a chance on one and so far it seems like a no frills mono- core deal.

    My advice on .22 suppressors:
    1. Between transfer tax and the dealer's fees, you will have $300 into a can before you buy the can. It's better to buy a good one.
    2. Figure out what you need. These days, everybody is selling multi-caliber capability and full auto rating...do you really need it? Considering the extra weight you are putting on the gun?

Yes, but with the caveat that if your dealer is charging you a $100 fee for dealing with an NFA item, you need to go elsewhere. Frankly, there is ZERO reason these days to pay any extra fees for NFA at all. You should pay the price of the item, any sales tax, and the $200 stamp, and that's it. If your dealer wants to charge you an extra $100 for buying an NFA item, then you should go to any of the dealers who have a Silencer Shop kiosk and do it for free.

Yes, though with rimfire this doesn't apply as much. The price difference between a $300 middle of the road rimfire can and a $400 rimfire can that's the best on the market is so small that I just recommend buying the best one.

Get one with stainless baffles. Easier to clean and most have little FRP as compared to a mono core. They only mono core i would buy anymore is in an integral barrel.
Second the motion about dealer fees. The only reason is if you bought out of state (not Silencer Shop) and are transferring in on a Form 3. The transferring dealer in MD will charge anywhere from $75 to $200 for the transfer.
    Buy once, cry once.

I agree about buying quality. I just don't see the point in paying the weight penalty for capabilities you aren't going to use.

That's definitely a good point. On rifle cans in particular that's a really good point.

Still, with rimfire cans the difference between an all-aluminum one and the "best on the market" ones that are built like brick shithouses is about 3 ounces. It's noticeable depending on host, but not horrendous I don't think.

First of all, wow, ten year thread necro is probably close to a record on this forum.

Where you really notice the weight is when you're running them on pistols. There is _absolutely_ a noticeable difference between my TI aluminum Tac65 and my SiCo SS Sparrow when running them on pistols. On a rifle? Pretty much indistinguishable.

Been eyeing up the SiCo Switchback, looks like a cool modular can, includes a short and "mid" size can that makes 22s hearing safe with a small/light minimalist can, or screw the 2 peices together for a 6.5oz 6" can that supposedly is the quietest on the market.

May opt for a Griffin Optimus micro instead, have a full size optimus in NFA jail, but would be cool to use the micro on my 5.56(with taper adapter) and 22 stuff as I already have the mounts for it, but at 8oz it's a tank for use on pistols.
