Prices have more than doubled in the last 6 months. Quadrupled in a lot of cases.....

No because cabelas has no retail stores in Maryland

That's kinda what I thought, but thanks for confirming it.

Unfortunately, the $5 shipping on orders over $99 "fathers day special" doesn't include ammo.. Crap!

It's still a pretty good deal, a "full" order of 5 boxes of 50 works out to .56 cents a round including delivery to my location, I've got some Pop's Day gift money burning a hole in my pocket so I think I'm gonna go for some of this.

Bass Pro HAS to charge tax to MD residents. Not their choice.

Understood. It's also one of the reasons I rarely purchase online from them anymore. Even if they have a good deal on something and/or a free shipping promotion, by the time I factor in the state tax it's usually cheaper for me to shop elsewhwere. Of course that could all change if the nationwide internet sales tax thing gets thru Congress, so enjoy your tax free out of state purchases while you can.

You are SUPPOSED to pay sales/use tax on out-of-state purchases. No one does. Thus, online, with free shipping, is typically better than local.

FWIW, they're sold out now it appears. Bought the limit of 5 boxes yesterday, and went back this AM to see if I could maybe get another 5, but no dice, it's not even listed for backorder. With all the WM stores in my area perpetually sold out of any .223/5.56 I'm having to resort to the internet more often, at least when I can find decent deals like this.
