Just picked up a used A300, i cleaned it and took it out today for some clay shooting. The gun fires fine, but the bolt is not cycling all the way back. So it is not ejecting the spent casing and loading the next round. looks like its only traveling about half way back

    Any ideas?

I have an A300 that I just bought in August. So far only about 150 rounds through it with no hiccups, a good mix of trap loads, high brass #6's and 3" BB's. Let us know when you solve this problem you got me nervous now.

One of the biggest issues with the Beretta autos is keeping the gas path clean. In some models, that includes a very complicated magazine cap. I suggest you tear it down and give it a good cleaning with a CLP type cleaner. Don't use Remoil as it won't remove the carbon build up.

Did you break it all the way down when you cleaned her? I would break it give some extra lube on the bolt/ejector parts. Some people said to run some hi brass through to "break-in". I did not do that and never had issues. Have over 1000+ rounds with only one stove pipe on a light load. If that doesn't work Beretta or ur shop should take care of it. Think there's a 1 year warranty which Beretta bumps to 2 if you register on their site. I've had good luck with customer service with Beretta on other guns.

ok,i took it apart and found out the problem was user error. When i put the piston back together the first time, the piston ring wasnt seated on the piston properly. i fixed that and it works fine now

Good for you. My brother has had a A300 since they first came out and it never lets him down.

i took it out today and it ran fine, no issues at all. Really nice shooting gun. i bought it as a Christmas present for my stepson, ive gotten him into shooting clays. He's been using one of my guns, i figured it was time for him to have one of his own

I've got my eye on an A400

"I've got my eye on an A400 " The A400 is a different breed altogether. I don't recommend them due to the problems I have seen with them. They are extremely critical when it comes to cleaning the gas system and it is more complex than the last generation. Go simple, get an 1187.
