    Where they send me.
I have known bad people in my life but when they left this world their bad deeds didn't last (aside from their direct victims) and so I let them slide into hell with little thought and would not speak bad of them.

However, in the case of political maggots who FORCE themselves onto society I do not think they deserve a millisecond of polite speech nor any quarter. This man was a socialist bordering on dictator who would have done more evil to us all if he was given the chance.

Therefore, no nice words nor quarter.

If my father (or mother) had been a socialist, I still would have mourned his (or her) death. Thankfully, that was not the case. Also, they did not raise a socialist in me nor my brother. As a Christian, I do pray that his daughters and wife seek hope in a greater power. In that hope lies the truth and antidote to their pain. Amen.

I say we should let it stay.

We (specifically him) have been pretending that the people here are competent for years, this is appropriate.

I would love to get a bill passed to block naming of ANYTHING after any politician, including welcome signs on the interstate, etc.... what a waste of resources.

Yup that’s pretty bad, but I can empathize with the person that may loose his job over this mistake.

I’m one of those people who feels pretty confident about my level of intellect, however spelling has been my Achilles Heel my entire life. I just plain suck, and autocorrect has only made it worse. I can remember reviewing term papers and reports with dictionary in hand going over each sentence and finding plenty of mistakes and then thinking I’ve got it perfect. Then I would be sadly disappointed when I got my assignments back with nasty little redline remarks and “SP” all over the place. It infuriated me that spelling would matter on a science report but hey, I didn’t make the rules I just sucked it up.

In my adult professional life I’ve embarrassed myself many many times. I would spend days working on important PowerPoint business proposals to be presented at executive board meetings only to find out after all the handouts were printed somehow some spelling mistake slipped through.

One of the most embarrassing was a business letter to Lockheed Martin. Except I spelled it Martian. My boss found out after the letter was mailed. We still got the contact but when we met at their offices the project manager made a big joke out of it. Boss was pissed off and embarrassed too and I felt like a stupid idiot.

Now a days I do my best and still they slip through. In the grand scheme of things I feel fortunate that god gave me a pretty good noggin.

At least it's only a library.

For more substantial things, like airports and other major infrastructure that will endure for decades, some time should have to lapse before they're renamed.

They should not be named for them so people won't forget them years later. They should be named for them because people are still thinking about them years later. A world of difference.

It took 45 years for Lincoln to get his memorial on the mall for crying out loud!

One of the best jobs I ever had for developing proofreading skills was when I was a TA and had to read through 100 reports a semester.
I very quickly identified almost all of the words that are spelled correctly, but still wrong. Autocorrect is a demon for those, and spell check is useless.

The one that got everyone was from vs form. I was forced to grade on an 83 average, so spelling was always an easy way to dock a few points to hit my average.
