If it was dismounting when firing a new spring would not have fixed the problem. Only way it could dismount is out of spec tab or receiver. If it was dismounting when you charged te rifle it is more than likely shooter error and a new stiffer spring just changed the way you pulled back on the op rod

Well it was dismounting when firing and occasionally when charging. I wasnt charging that rifle any different than I had been my other three for the past several years of almost weekly shooting. I replaced the spring and no problems since. Believe me I was in your camp thinking it wouldn't do anything but it did.
Like I said in my original pos, maybe I just got lucky.

Your probably right but it hasn't so far. I sold it to a buddy. He's been shooting it. I told him if it starts again I'd pay for the oprod rebuild. Until then.....

Me personally, I use 47.5 IMR4895 over a 150gr Hornady 3037

With that load, the POI is about the same as the greek HXT @ 100 yards which is all I wanted. I did not want to have to do alot of adjusting when moving from Greek to my reloads.
