GRRR, I had mistakenly thought the surplus ammo was boxer primed, nope, Berdan primed, it had a dimple in the center that made me think it was boxer but now with a light, I can see the 2 Berdan holes.

Gonna start a thread in the reloading section so will be looking for the input good buddy.

If it's about reloading Berdan or converting Berdan to Boxer, it would be appropriate to my interests, me with buckets of good Stalinist brass on hand. But like so many things, just because something isn't impossible doesn't mean it can be done.

Nope, started that twice and gave up both times. Berdan reloading is the line I'm no longer crossing

Very nice carbine. I love the Argentine 1891s, and regret selling the 2 I had. I even emailed the buyer of one of them, trying to buy it back, with no luck.

So I had a dud of the inter arms surplus a couple weeks ago. One dud in 75 rounds shot so far. I pulled it to take a look.

I stopped by Engage while in Rockville before a meet up and saw the Argentine Rifle and figured the Carbine may want a bigger brother. Looked at the bore and was rather rusty but strong rifling. I have brought back a couple bores in the past year from this bad or worse so thought about it then I looked at the serial number , looked up my research notes from the carbine and said “I’ll take it!”

Friend came back from Argentina recently. He hunted for and found an original Sling as well as 3 ammo pouches. These were hard to find even in Argentina. Put the sling onto the long rifle.
(wait, Is that Ethan Hunt from the Impossible Mission Force in that last photo in the back?)
