    This is a build list I put together for a friend of mine, because he couldn't decide on rifle or pistol, so I gave him the choice of both. Just be sure to follow all state and federal laws.

    That is correct. Cheap uppers have more issues than Somali pirates trying to hijack a US Navy warship.

    If I did my math correctly; just the upper parts in your list (I have all the pistol lower parts) adds up to $360.92 About the same as a PSA upper (except they don't have a 10.5" in stock). Price is right.

    Anderson Manufacturing AR-15 Upper Receiver Assembly | $69.99
    Anderson Manufacturing 6061 Aluminum Charging Handle, 10.99
    KAK VALUE-LINE 300 BLACKOUT 10.5 INCH PISTOL MELONITE BARREL | 100.00
    Strike indutries AR Mega Fins / Key-Mod Handguard Rail | 119.00
    Yankee Hill Machine Flash Hider Phantom 5C2 | $36.00
    Radical Firearms Low Profile Gas Block - .750" - Set Screw Style | 15.99
    Expo Arms Pistol Length Gas Tube - Stainless Steel | 8.95

    Total = $360.92

    NOTE: I have a BCG and bolt already

    Difference is crappy components and shoddy workmanship versus good components and good workmanship. Build, don't buy cheap uppers.

    Makes sense. So all I would need is a reaction rod or some other device to hold the upper in a vice. Do you use a scope to get the gas block lined up with the port?

    [EDIT] One thing about Odin Works barrels; I see they have a mark to line up the gas block, which they include.

    Magpul BEV block to hold it. I do use a bore scope to align the gas block.

    I generally don't trust pre dimpled barrels.
