hey guys i was wondering if we could start a debate on the legal definition of arms in the 2nd amendment. now if you look at the 2nd amendment, where it says "the right of the people to keep and bear ARMS" now my question is that the term "arms" is used in a very broad way. does the word "arms" include assault rifles and machine guns and class 3? ill let you be the judge.

EDIT: sorry i had to go but ill elaborate on this subject. lets just say congress puts in an assault rifle ban. could one go to court and argue that the ban is unconstitutional because the 2nd amendment does not elaborate on what kinds of arms that are protected by the 2nd amendment? im only asking this because it brings up a very good argument.

FML. Not again. I hate legislative sessions.

Is free speech protected on the internet? It's not the state of the art one sheet at a time manual printing press that was all the rage 2.5 centuries ago...

What did they mean by speech? Like giving one? Or talking to your wife? Or buddies at work?
What the f difference does it make? They said search also, only your home? Or to include your horse?

Sure...as soon as you state the legal definition of "Defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic." and cite examples of how to do so and the reasons why.

Good points. And, the Constitution was written in English, when the nation was an English-speaking country, so maybe it was only intended to cover speech in English, not Spanish or other languages. ;)

An 18'er with 14 posts asks a question like that?????

OP go and read all the documents and briefs in Heller vs DC, that issue was discussed by the Supreme Court at that time.

You might also learn to use the shift key.

Yes , you Can do somthing about that !

( I corrected the uncertainty on Bill number, this post is now correct.)

This tuesday, 3/6 , the Senate Judicical Proceedings Committee is having a hearing on SB908. This bill will remove most of the Evil Rifle nonsense from FSA .

Hearing starts 1:00 . Submit written testimony, and sign up on the electronic sign up board before 12:15 .

For further efforts call and email your support for the Bill to all the individual members of the SJPC . ( Either old school , get email addresses from MD Gen'l Assy own website , or their are several email tools with links from MDS . I prefer the one from Assoc Gun Clubs , but that's your preference ).

For still further , make your Sign with a simple message such as " YES on SB908" , and join the PP monday evening in Annapolis . 7:00 on the sidewalk, 6:00 Mission BBQ for BBQ .
