Could having a law enforcement spouse be considered as a g&s reason to obtain A permit? May be a long shot but I'm wondering if anybody has had success going this rout.
Also wasn't it written not to long ago something about making it easier for firefighters/emts to get approved?

I doubt it without documented threats to their family members

    Would this count?

As long as you don't mind donating your money to MSP in the form of an application.

Is that picture even a threat?

I wouldn't call it a threat, but definitely an indicator of how an increasing number of people feel about law enforcement.

I didn't mean to imply that the OP actually had a shot because of the picture. Just a tongue in cheek post.

The real challenge is that what is considered "G&S" is shrouded in secrecy. MSP refuses to release what is approved and disapproved citing applicant privacy, even when the applicant waives. The appeals boards goes into private session when discussing individual case details and does not release minutes of those session. All this despite sunshine laws requiring open meetings. Whether true or not, the perception in the firearms community is that the real purpose of the secrecy is to conceal the criteria for approving a carry permits.

Has anyone ever tried FOIA requests for approved applications? Are minutes of the private sessions even maintained?

    Monkey boy, is that you?

If worded properly I would say yes to the G&S.
Also, maybe you could introduce yourself here.

There have been several spouses of LEOs that have been issued W&C permits.

My advise would be to apply and plan to follow through the entire process. And by that, what I mean is be prepared to be denied and appeal the denial to the HPRB.

Do you mean for the information on the actual applications? If so then you won't get anything as that information is protected by state law (We got it protected in FSA2013) and not subject to public dissemination.

I was thinking the rationale behind issuance or denial but, on second thought, the rationale would so be tied to the specific circumstances of the application that it would probably be mostly redacted or deemed exempt from disclosure.
