The wood grip on my Taurus PT99 is getting old. It feels slippery because of my sweaty hands.

Any suggestions to fix this problem?

If aesthetics aren't an issue, I know some folks put non-slip skateboarders tape on the grips of their pistols. Or perhaps a Hogue Handall (slip on rubber grip) might do the trick.

    Sandpaper? :D

I'm guessing there are plenty of cheap replacement grips out there for the PT99. Also the Beretta 92 if they're compatible (I don't know if they are)

August's suggestion of skateboard tape is very good. I use skateboard tape on a couple of my pistols. I recommend putting the skateboard tape on the front and backstrap of the grip 1st, then add it to the right hand grip or left hand grip depending on what hand you use to shoot. You may be happy with just adding tape to just the front and back.

Thank you for your suggestion, guys!

I would try in the following order

    (1) skateboard tape / tennis grip

    (2) Hogue grip

    (3) sand / refinish / re-check the wood grip

Spray the grips with Polyurethane and sprinkle sand on the wet finish, repeat spay and apply more sand.

Instant texture wood wrip wile retaining the "grain" and look.

We used to have a homemade pool ladder that we did the same thing to. It worked.

To the OP, how old are your grips? Why not buy the gun a new set? There should be a decent selection out there.
