Update: so I found out that the rifle was made in Fazakerley in 47. Part of the last production run. All parts matching. Was government issue, but never assigned for service.( Arsenal sitter) still don't know about the non fired except for proofing bit. But from how clean the grooves are and no deterioration on the barrel I'm leaning towards it being the truth. Still working on getting pictures up for you guys.
