Tac-13 REMINGTON shotgun legal in MD

I checked the non-handgun roster and the Tac-13 REMINGTON shotgun isn't on the banned list. For whatever reason, I thought all shotguns without a stock was banned. Bitch getting old.

This has probably covered numerous times on this forum: what characteristic classifies this as a firearm?

Is it because of the pistol stock and the length of the barrel?

Multiple things,

1. Smoothbore (not a pistol or rifle)
2. Never had a stock (not a rifle)
3. Over 26 OAL (not AOW)

Here's the actual paperwork ATF sent to Mossberg for the original Shockwave design

Hope that helps.

The ATF really cleared up the differences.

Thanks

Does adding a brace make it a NFA item?

It does not, an arm brace is not a stock.

I could be wrong, but I thought a stabilizing brace required ATF Form 1.

Yep you're wrong. It could have been that way in the past but not anymore. I have a feeling that's going to change soon though
